At Becoming Shala, the belief is that true healing and transformation unfold when the mind, body, and spirit are nurtured together. Founded by Sarah, a licensed clinical mental health counselor, trauma-informed yoga facilitator, and holistic practitioner, and NH board certified clinical supervisor, Becoming Shala offers more than a service—it is a sanctuary for healing, growth, and meaningful connection.
With over 20 years of experience in the helping field, Sarah’s work has spanned group homes, schools, and community mental health settings, as well as collaborative holistic wellness practices alongside other providers. This diverse background has shaped a deeply integrative approach to care—one that honors both evidence-based mental health treatment and the wisdom of the body.
Now in private practice, Sarah works exclusively with adults, offering virtual individual mental health therapy rooted in trauma-informed care. Her work blends somatic therapies, nervous system regulation, and mindfulness with a variety of evidence-based practices to support clients navigating anxiety, trauma, caregiver fatigue, grief and life transitions.
In addition to individual therapy, Becoming Shala offers wellness workshops to yoga studios, retreats, and wellness centers offering a variety of group offerings designed to foster self-awareness, community and collective healing.
The word Shala means “home” in Sanskrit—a place of refuge, learning, and belonging. At Becoming Shala, this meaning is honored through spaces that invite you to slow down, reconnect, and remember who you are beneath the noise.
